What now?

Question

I had a sweep on Monday at 37 weeks. I was 1 cm dilated 60% effaced and baby was at 0 station. I was cramping before the appointment but afterwards I felt absolutely fine so I was thinking the sweep didn’t work at all. This morning, two days later, I had my bloody show and lost LOTS of my mucus plug. I never had this with my first born so I was just wondering if labor is near or if I should continue with business as usual? How did you feel after losing your mucus plug/bloody show?

You could start laboring, but you also could not. On Saturday (39w+1), I went in for bleeding (and now I know I was having bloody show while at the hospital) and found out I was 4 cm and 80% effaced around 830. By 11 I was 4.5 cm and I was contracting the whole time on and off, which felt like period cramps to me. I let them strip my membranes and I started to lose my mucous plug later that day and continued to on and off through Monday. I’ve only had a tiny bit of mucous here and there since Monday and cramping maybe once or twice a day. Now 39w+5 and no signs of labor. 
So it’s hard to say when your body will be ready! Goodluck!

I’ve known a few people who have a bloody show with their mucus plug and go into labor a few days after hope that’s the case for you!
