You are the fatigue in my arms from rocking you to sleep

You are the bruise on my knee from crawling after you on the floor

You are the stubbed toe rushing to stop you from hurting yourself

You are the pain in my leg from the pinched nerve that never relaxed

You are the strain in my back from leaning over your crib

You are the crick in my neck falling asleep at odd angles holding you

You are the ache in my feet after holding you all day

You are the scratch on my chest from your flailing fingers

You are the engorged and then deflated breasts from feeding you

You are the pulled hair by curious hands

You are the bite mark on my arm from new baby teeth

You are the sleepless nights when you're teething or fussy
