Are ultrasounds harmful?

So I saw people saying that ultrasounds are harmful to a baby & I was just wondering what other people think. I don’t see why doctors would do it if it’s harmful. My first 2 appointments are going to be 4 weeks apart.

Oh I wouldn’t stress. I think the idea is that there is very little known about what they do, and that we also use ultrasound technology to treat things like testicular cancer. 
I have a care provider that only does one routine ultrasound because of that, but if you are high risk they sometimes do them every other week 🤷‍♀️
It’s not that they are KNOWN to be harmful, just that very little is known about what harm they could cause. 
I would do more if my provider wanted, but since they don’t offer them I just do the one.

In untrained hands, they can be harmful due to the heat possibly affecting vulnerable cells.  But they aren’t proven “dangerous” by any means when done by a well trained technician.

It’s doing them in excess that COULD BE harmful.  doing regular routine ultrasounds are fine. But don’t be paying to go get a private ultrasound every day just so you can “see your baby”.
