A midwife nearly ended my relationship....
So last week I ended up in antenatal care due to bleeding and contractions, everything was fine but they took some swabs to see if I had a infection. Fast forward to this morning and I get a phone call from the midwife at the hospital to give me my results, she was very sombre and told me I had tested positive for Chlamdya... like WTAF. At 9 months pregnant I burst into tears and was in complete shock, my first thought is my partner of nearly 3 years has done me dirty. I didn't know what to say and the midwife kept asking if I was okay and told me I needed antibiotics and my partner needed testing also. After the call I calmly came downstairs to confront him, he was with our 5 year old so I took him into the kitchen and asked him straight has he been with anyone, he looked completely shocked and asked what I was on about, I explained I had tested positive for Chlamdya and he said how, the thoughts that were running through my mind were how has this happened in the 6 weeks since I've had previous swabs, we are in lockdown ffs!! He tried to reassure me but I just couldn't look at him and was crying again, then my phone rings it was the midwife again. She quickly apologised and said she had read the results incorrectly and I was negative but had got thrush, my partner looked relieved I cried even more and said it's okay, I did feel for this midwife as she was mortified at her mistake even though I was in the middle of probably kicking out my partner. Fast forward a couple of hours we are sat here laughing about it!
