Baby throws food on the floor

My daughter is 8 months old and over the last couple weeks has discovered the game of lets throw everything on the floor!

We did a mix of purées and blw when she was 6 months and over the last month I’ve been slowly eliminating the amount of purées she gets and moving more towards just solid foods. She used to be great with picking up a food and feeling the texture of it and bringing it to her mouth to eat it, but now she picks it up and immediately drops it on the floor. My husband and I have been making sure not to laugh or smile at it and I just say “no” when she does it. I’ve had to resort to spoon feeding her or putting the pieces in her mouth for her or else she just won’t eat.

I’m assuming and hoping this is just a phase and that if I keep offering her the pieces to feed herself eventually she’ll stop and just eat it.

Any tips?
