For people who TTC in their 20’s how long did it take?

I took out my birth control April of 2018 and I’ve gotten faint lines but no real pregnancy. I’ve been on and off with tracking ovulation and my doctor said my ovaries and hormones are fine so I feel hopeless. Especially when you have a sister that asks you “weren’t you trying to get pregnant” as she has gotten pregnant five times in the last year and aborted them all. I’m cramping now which makes me feel like AF is coming so I don’t know what to do.

I’m usually not one to be judge-y but your sister sounds like work. In my opinion you should take a little break from her while you figure out your cycles. I got pregnant while on the pill, with my daughter. I would cycle on and off throughout the years because I always heard BC was bad for your reproductive health by family members (not sure how true that is) so I would take breaks every now and again but I was actively on it when my daughter was conceived. Not sure how it happened, but I heard that it can take 6 months to a year to get a normal cycle after BC. My cycle always bounced back relatively quickly. Also, after I had my daughter I got pregnant again 6 weeks after her birth so I’m currently pregnant again. Even though some of us are able to get pregnant relatively easy there is a lot of science involved, make sure you’re trying around the week of ovulation. Also, have your man get checked out since the doc seems to tell you everything is fine. You could try fertility boosters (goes both ways) , healthier more fibrous diet, preseed or other lubricants that’s less harmful to sperm and mimics fertile mucuses. I was on the depo shot for almost 3 years. I went off of it in August 2018 and I got pregnant this December. I’m 24 weeks now

It can take a perfectly healthy couple over a year to get pregnant ☺️ don’t stress! It took us 18 months to get pregnant the first time, I miscarried at 5 weeks, then I got pregnant 4 months after my miscarriage with my 5 month old daughter! Stress has a BIG factor in effecting your fertility!

At 29 I had no problem getting pregnant but a bit of trouble staying pregnant. First pregnancy took 3 months of trying (miscarriage), 2nd took 1 month (miscarriage) and this pregnancy took 1 month (18w2d and going strong!)

I had my Nexplanon implant removed September 20th of 2018 and didn’t get pregnant until October 3rd 2019 (when I  got my positive test) and even then that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage by the end of October. Then I got pregnant again months later in February 2020.
