An old lady made me cry today.

Work has been incredibly stressful lately. We have had to retrench most of our staff so the dew that are left have had to pick up the additional duties with a huge pay cut to try save the business.

I happen to take over the accounts, which are is a DISMAL state. Our accounts lady really dropped the ball. Issues that have been outstanding for months, I resolved in mere days. I've seen some people have not been billed for their monthly services for MONTHS, and for one case for almost two years.

*The accounts lady has access to every single client and service we have for them and she's supposed to check regularly in case we miss any via the job cards.

Anyway, so the accounts are in a state and I'm having so many people who are angry because I'm now collecting money. We also terminated a client who has been consistently aggressive and uncooperative (not to mention barely pays their account- we wrote off their debt just to get rid of them).

So I've had a few angry people on my case today. But it was the old lady that broke me. She phoned today, FUMING that her account is incorrect for the umpteenth time. Then the call cuts. I go cry for a second, miss her trying to call back (on account of the crying), and then answer her next call as I was trying to phone her back. Then she complains why didn't I phone her back (in the three minutes this happened). Finish helping her then go to cry again.

And all this could all be for nothing. Our boss gave us our figures today and it's not looking good.

Just needed to vent.
