When to Buy for Baby

Hi November mama's to be! I'm nearly 14 weeks pregnant and am wondering when to start buying baby items? I guess I was thinking I'd need to wait until we know the gender.

I bought this when I was only 5 weeks. Way too early but I wanted to be positive after a miscarriage last year. My parents dressed me in Peter Rabbit clothes when I was an infant. I couldn’t resist. I look at it from time to time and cry over how small it is 😊 
I’ll start buying more in a few weeks. For now I’ve treated myself to some maternity clothes and new boots!

If you’re going to do a registry, don’t buy too much. I got so many amazing things at my shower with my first! Once I found out the gender with my first, I bought her a few cute outfits. With this one, once we find out the gender (if it’s a boy) I’ll do the same. 😊

If this is your first, I would wait until your shower before you buy too much. I got tons for my first. This is my second so I doubt I will have a shower. We found out gender yesterday so I will probably start buying things now.

My honest opinion and it’s just me, is i don’t think I will start buying major stuff until After my baby shower because I’m too afraid of getting everything and something happening due to a miscarriage at 14+5 weeks in December. So I have been in fear of doing any buying until I know for sure! I find out the gender on the 25th of this month so I might buy little stuff. But totally up to u.

I started buying things the day I found out the gender. I have mainly bought nursery decor and items that I think will not be available by November. It has helped me feel positive about this pregnancy as well!

I started picking up diapers and things at like7 weeks lol. I’m 14 weeks and we’ve already bought the crib and car seat and a few things of clothes and like swaddles. We already know the gender though. But with my first the shower we really got like little bull crap no bigger items. Lots of clothes I think. So I plan on having a majority of things myself again. Plus I’m a planner I don’t like to wait to do things. And with this baby being born in November I’ll be on maternity leave until the beginning of January and my daughters birthday is New Year’s Day and there’s Christmas lol so I always do stuff sooner than most because doing stuff around that time is hard.

I got a bunch of stuff from my registry so I held out on buying a lot of stuff until the last few weeks of pregnancy. I of course bought little outfits along the way! Just depends on if you know whether or not other people will buy things for you. We had the nursery set up by 28 weeks. I had my lo at 39 weeks.

Hiya I’m 15 weeks pregnant! And I find out next week the gender and from then onwards I will start to be making purchases as it will be easier to spread out the spend rather than all at once x
