How do you know when you passed everything with a miscarriage?

I had a missed miscarriage and for weeks nothing was happening. I decided to schedule a d and c which I will have tomorrow. I started bleeding yesterday but have no idea if I've passed tissue. How do you know when you've passed everything? If I can avoid being put under I would like to but I also dont want to prolong this any longer.

I had a MC and my body passed it naturally. They did an US and it showed nothing was left behind. They will do an US first. Hopefully for u u passed it all.

I had spotting/light for a few weeks during my second pregnancy and eventually found out I had MC. Had a D&C and the doc said there was a TON of tissue to remove and she had been surprised at how much (I was only 8 weeks). Post surgery I actually passed an absurd amount of blood/clots. Moral of the story, sometimes there’s a lot more blood and tissue in there than you think. Idk though I’d talk to your doc. It will really depend on how much bleeding you are having and if you really want to avoid the D&C. I have had two, first was a of piece of cake physically and second was a bit rough.

I had a missed miscarriage. I was suppose to be 11 weeks but the baby stopped at 8. I found out January 12th that the baby passed and on January 14th my miscarriage started naturally. I had really heavy bleeding and lot of clots. I had contractions every 1.5 minutes and was basically in full blown labor. I started the miscarriage at work at about 3/4pm and at 8pm I ended up in the ER because of the pain. I passed everything except a small bit of tissue that they had to go in and pull out. By 12am, everything was over & all I had was dull cramping.

Im sorry for your loss. When I had my miscarriage once everything was out there was no more bleeding. I would call the doctor office and tell them toy started bleeding. They may tell you to stay home and wait it out. They should reschedule your appointment for two weeks so they can do an ultrasound and ensure everything was passed. At least that's what my doctor did
