High risk HPV but not cervical cancer strains?
I had my yearly pap test last week and they tested me for HPV. I got the call this morning with my results. They left a voicemail because I'm at work. Also can't call back today before they will be closed before I'm off work. But the doctor said I was HPV positive, high risk but I didn't test positive for the strains that cause cervical cancer and that I should be okay and to come back in a year for a retest. What does that even mean?? What am I at high risk for if it isn't cervical cancer?? This has me a little scared. I will call back tomorrow but I'm curious about y'alls thought on this.
