How do deal with anxiety in college

First- My family can’t afford a therapist because of really high medical bills for somebody else in the family.

I have mild ADHD and severe anxiety. Usually I can control it myself but sometimes it just builds until I can’t stop gasping and crying. It’s weird, I feel totally cool and collected in my head but my body is shaking and can’t breathe and sometimes I vomit.

My friends have been so super supportive of me, but now we’re all going to different schools and they’re going to be on the other coast.

Does anybody have techniques they use to control their anxiety? Does the brown paper bag trick work? Meditation usually just makes me feel trapped inside my head, but maybe I’m not doing it right?
