Nursery might not be ready.. your experiences?
My husband has decided that before baby comes we are going to knock all the plaster off the walls in the upstairs of our house and basically give our home a refurbishment, new bathroom and everything. I am 18 weeks pregnant.
There are pros and cons why this is the best time to do it. It needs doing and we would rather it be dusty now rather than when baby arrives and because we are moving our bedroom furniture into our living room it felt like it would make more sense to do this whilst pregnant rather than with a newborn or toddler and not to mention that the last time we did renovation it was the middle of winter whereas it is currently summer where we are.
But my maternal instincts are kicking in and I am panicking that we will not have the babies nursery ready for when he or she is born. The renovation will be finished but we might not have a cot, dressing tables etc ready for baby's arrival (place to store their clothes etc).
My husband keeps reminding me that the baby will be in with us for the first few months and it is only flat pack furniture that will need putting up when baby comes but I just want some reassurance from anyone who may have not had the nursery ready before baby comes. Did you go through this?
I just feel that because this is our first I want it their room to be ready when they arrive.
