I kind of wish I lived back then when when women were separated and not allowed to do anything when menstrating. Lol

Egypt and Rome used things like rolled up softened paper and wool tampons. Japan often used a sort of heavy cloth diaper. Many women in the Middle Ages weren't allowed near men while menstruating so they would simply wear heavy undergarments or bleed freely.

My grandma used to tell me they used potato sacks. They would wash them and put them back into their underwear.

Tampons and disposable stick on pads are a relatively new thing. My mom used a menstrual belt

I used a super absorbent cloth for a short time when I was young and my family couldn't afford pads. It was gross because you would have to clean your cloth out. Squeezing out the blood in the morning was nasty. It's okay but I am so happy to use pads and tampons. We are spoiled 😂
