How to save for a house?!? I can’t save anything I need help

So currently I’m 30 weeks and have a toddler. My partner and I have no money saved. Absolutely none. I’ve always worked as a waitress, since 16 because I absolutely love it and it was my dream job (I just enjoy being around people, helping people and all that comes with it) I took my year off with my toddler but I’ve been laid off since March so I didn’t even make enough to get on ei and I will not have maternity. My partner finally got a job one week before covid started and then was laid off. Thankfully he starts back up today!! He makes 16$ an hour and works 9 hours, 5 or 6 days a week. So he’ll make around $3,000 a month before taxes. We also get around $700 for child benefits and that’ll be up to almost $1400 when our son comes. Our rent is $950 for an illegal apartment, $75 for heat, $56 for internet, $187 for phone bills (we’re in contracts and can’t break them for another year and a few months) so we’re left with a decent amount for groceries and kids stuff. But we literally can’t save. At all. Something always comes up. Our groceries are super expensive, we live in Ontario and only eat healthy foods and lots of meat. Meat alone is probably $200-300 a month!! My daughter plows through fruits and veggies so we’re constantly buying them. I admit we do eat out quite a bit as we have our lazy days and that’s something we could change. We spend about $100 a month on diapers and wipes. And that’s it besides random toys and baby clothes. But we need a house. There’s no where to rent and our apartment is super illegal and small. We need to get out asap. How have you managed to save?? How can I save? It seems like we have so much money but then it’s all gone. I really need some advice. Could someone help me budget??
