Had it all Wrong
So I have spent the past 3 years with the diagnosis of Manic Depression and PTSD. I just accepted it and dealt with it the best I could.
Today, I talked to a therapist for the first time in 6-7 months. We discussed my symptoms over the phone for an annual review. Normally those go without any pause or complications.
Today was different. My diagnosis changed. I still suffer from PTSD (due to trauma from a few years ago), but it’s not manic depression. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Now my mind is reeling because I’m so confused.
How have you handled a diagnosis change? I’ve spent the past 3 years thinking I had one diagnosis, and I actually have something different, don’t get me wrong, this one makes more sense.
It’s just a lot to take in.
