We finally stopped bed sharing

Jennifer

Figured I'd share cuz I was getting so burnt out with the waking up every couple of hours to comfort nurse. I decided it was time and we switched over to walking around holding my son till he fell asleep then put him in the crib. This only worked for a few hours and he'd wake up crying. We'd repeat the process until he woke up around our bed time and I'd bring him to bed with us. I finally got kicked for the last time after bringing him to our bed a few nights ago. That night I sang him a few songs and walked a little then put him in the crib and let him cry himself to sleep. So hard. It took just under an hour. He woke once an hour later and cried for a little then went back asleep until 6am. Every day has gotten better. Today I sang one rendition of the ABC song while I made one circuit of the room, said I love you, and kissed him before setting him in the crib. He cried out once or twice then laid down and was out. I think maybe 7 minutes total. He's been waking earlier than when we bed shared, but it's probably good. I've been bringing him to my bed and we all sleep in for the last few days, but I go to back to work next week and we'll all have to wake up earlier. My mood has increased tenfold now that I'm actually getting hours of sleep in a row 💙
