My family and I looking to move to Hawaii! I’m a nurse, I have an almost 3rd grade.

Like others have said, it is very expensive! Nothing to compare the education to, but I’d have to say that I got a decent education through public schooling. Got me to where I am today, a licensed registered nurse!

What Island are you looking to live on? 
I have lived on Kauai for 19 years. It's very expensive and you have to work hard.Everything here is 2k+ for your own place to rent on this island and that does not include utilities. Schools are pretty bad here as well. Even if you pay for the private schools the education level is still meh. Plus side the beautiful beaches and great outdoor adventure you can enjoy for free. Right now with Covid19 moving to the islands may be a bit of a pain due to the mandatory 14 day quarantine. Make sure your jobs are lined up and your house is ready to move into the day you arrive. Come to Hawaii with love and kindness in your heart. If you arrive with a mainland attitude that Hawaii owes you anything, the islands have a way of booting you back to the mainland. I lived in Hawaii when I was younger and I loved it, my husband and I 10 year goal is to move back. Private school would be your best bet like someone else said as public school isn’t the best. The island is beautiful and I think the price is worth it

I lived there for 2 years! We loved it and would like to go back again if my husband can get it again( army). I’d say the education system isn’t the best there but private school could be an option. Weather is pretty much always nice so I kept a small collection of winter clothes for traveling to the main land during colder months. It takes some getting use to as you can just jump in the car and drive over to another state. Feel free if you have any more specific questions as I could go on and on about it lol.. we miss it for sure! ❤️ Best of luck on your decision!
