Anyone forward facing their toddlers yet?

My husband changed my son’s today. I think imma put it back. But my husband keeps going on and on that my son isn’t comfortable cuz his legs are also cramped together going rear facing .. he’s so tall

My babies are forward facing. We were in an accident this past weekend. A woman was talking on the phone and not paying attention and ran right into the back of us going the speed limit while we were completely stopped at a stop light. Since my kids were forward facing they were pushed back into their seats instead of forward into their straps. They were completely safe and unharmed! Just scared!

My son is still rear facing. Our pediatrician told us to keep him that way until he exceeds the car seat’s weight capacity. Our car seat manufacturer has a weight max of 40 lbs for rear facing. Since he’s a lean little boy (36 in, 30 lb), he’s still well under that max. The longer they can face backward, the safer they are. He doesn’t seem to complain about the leg room, so he’ll keep sitting rear facing until he gets bigger.

My husband and I were just talking about this a couple days ago 😂 my daughter is rear facing and she's fine. She doesn't put up any struggle or express any desire to turn around and so we're leaving her rear facing as long as possible. My husband is 6'1" and we drive a Prius so it is cramped in the front seat, but the thing is you can't know if your kid's spine is ready for the forward facing seat without an X-ray. They have age recommendations based on when MOST kids would be fine to forward face in a crash, but you can't know that YOUR kid would. We figure we'll turn her when she starts making it hard to put her rear facing, or when she turns 4. I figure my younger child will want to turn around sooner since he'll see his sister doing it.

We're about to swap the seat because she outgrew it, and the next one is forward facing.
Her legs are fine facing backwards, it's like when you sit cross legged. She's very comfortable except the shoulders are getting above the straps, and we can't fit a bigger seat in there that's facing backwards.
I would like to have a bit more time before turning forward but we literally don't have the space for that in the car. I'm happy we got this close to three years though!

My daughter is forward facing. We had to so we could all fit in the truck when she was 2.5. she's so happy with it we can't go back. They are almost 3 so I mean I feel pretty good about how long we made it.

My daughter is forward facing. I do agree that she could still be rear facing but we flipped her when she turned 2. She was making the person sitting in the front passenger seat have to sit with their knees on the dash and that is also dangerous. My daughter is 35lbs and 38” tall.
