Alternative to cows milk?

Hi everyone. Our Ped recommended we start whole milk at one and my SO and I just aren’t too comfortable giving him cows milk after a lot of research. We don’t drink cows milk either. Does anyone know of any alternative that would still be giving him the calories and protein that he needs? He’s EBF right now. No judgement please.

Hello! Vegan here! We don’t give out kids cow milk either. They have never had it (super duper healthy kids by the way, my oldest is 3 and has never had to take antibiotics or anything). We do silk protein nut milk or Oatly. I have seen a lot of non diary moms use Ripple, but I personally didn’t like it. 
Silk is my favorite though!

There is no reason to give baby any milk except breast or formula unless you personally want to. Just make sure baby is eating a variety of food - fruits, veggies, whole grains. My son loves lentils and quinoa and beans - oh hell he eats literally anything I put in front of him. He is 10 months. We will not be giving dairy either as we don’t consume it, if we decide to give him a milk it’ll probably be almond at first and then venture into the other plant based ones so that he can decide whichever his favorite is.

I just keep nursing. I nursed my first 18 months and she never drank cows milk. By 18 months she was eating everything and getting all her calories that way
