I know what to do but I’m torn still

Long story short

My sons dad and I have 13 years of history. Some not good. All I want is to be a family with him but he has some issues that I don’t know he will ever outgrow.

He is in a relationship and tells me he isn’t happy with her and everything he does with her is fake. That he wants to be with me and build a life but needs 2 months to sort things out and leave her.

I know what to do... I really really do. But my heart is saying just give him this 2 months and see what happens
