How often are you bathing your LO?

I usually bathe my baby 2x a week. Dr asked me how often I bathed him because he was showing beginning signs of eczema, which I had not noticed. I have little bumps in my arms and so do my siblings I just assumed he had the same skin type as us but dr said it was beginning stages of eczema (his skin isn’t red or itchy) & said too much soap could make it worst and to lotion him up a lot.

Eczema is an autoimmune and gut issue but I would def not bathe too often to not remove their natural oils.

Bath every night for routine but only soap 2x a week

With  all three of my babies we have done the following: for the first 4-6 months (until they start eating solids) we do baths every 4-5 days unless the actually get dirty (usually due to blowouts). Once they start eating solid food because we due BLW they get messy so they get daily baths but we only use soap (and shampoo for hair) every 4-5 days still. This is pretty much what we have continued to do. When they reach school age we will start doing soap every 2-3 days or more often as needed. Over soaping is bad for the skin. Water rinses dirt off well enough on its own. None of my kids stink. I also only use soap every 2-3 days unless I sweat a lot or get really dirty. My skin is soft but not oily at all.

We bath her 2x a week sometimes 3x. She has some signs of eczema so we put aquaphor everyday and at night as needed. If her skin gets a bit rashy/bumpy and red we put a pea size of hydrocortisone (dr recommended) or do a oatmeal bath (only body).

It's just become a part of her bedtime routine so every night. I only use bodywash twice a week. It's mainly just to relax her and she watches her brother play in the bath with her.
