Opinions on living in a trailer park?

Okay... So, we are looking to buy a house and I saw a double wide in a nicer looking mobile home park and I don't think i would mind it too much... Except my husband is really turned off to the "trailer park" idea... I don't blame him too much because there are some not so nice ones but that comes with any neighborhood. I kind of like the idea of owning it, they're on the cheaper side, so we can really save money and things like that.

Eventually (I know some parks you can't) but we could rent it out if we decide to buy bigger in the next few years. Like I said, depending on the rules.

Do you all think mobile homes have bad reps? Is it really bad to live in one...? I'm kind of nervous of what people will think only because he brought it up lol. Typically I wouldn't care but... This is one of those things I need opinions on.

Before we moved into our home in April this year we lived in a double wide trailer in a small town. Most people were shocked when they stepped inside & saw how nice it was. IMO our 3br 2bath trailer was nicer than some small homes & it had open space with tall ceilings, master bedroom had a decent walk in closet & master bathroom had a massive tub & stand up shower. You'll have crappy neighbors in almost every neighborhood. Go with what you can afford, people are always going to have an opinion on things but at the end of the day you have to support your family! I'd rather live in a trailer than an apartment personally.

My SO and i are buying one right before the baby gets here, i grew up in one and i see nothing wrong with it as long as it doesnt look bad. Youll have crappy neighbors anywhere you decide to go. Do what is going to save more money in the long run.

I live in a 4 bedroom 2 bath doublewide in a really nice trailer park. We love it we own the land and the trailer we havent come across any real problems

I recently brought up buying a trailer to my husband and his (very good) reason not to was that we live in south Florida and trailers end up in trees during hurricanes. If we lived somewhere else we would more than likely buy one.

I own a single wide we bought last year. It's a great way for a starter home. We are renovating ours with more cabinets and counters and wood flooring. It's our stepping stone before land

There are nice trailer parks and not so nice ones. I lived in a really nice one for years and my mortgage was only $400/month.......where we lived you owned your property so it was like buying a house......... the 2 REALLY big downside in living in a trailer is 1) they usually cost more to heat and cool because they are made without proper installation, my heating bill  in the winter was well over $200 for my 800sqft trailer!! 2) our pipes would freeze ALL the time. Waking up and having to go outside at 5am to unfreeze pipes in -20° so you can shower really sucks! I guess if YOU don't live where it gets cold then I'd say go for it lol

If my husband and I didn't live in the land of tornados "Oklahoma" then we would in a heart beat! It's a roof over your head and there's really nice ones!!!
