First boy’s name? Reasons in post!

My husband and I will be having our first baby. He is Puerto Rican and we want to honor his heritage with the first name if possible. For the middle name we will be honoring my family with a family name, which for a boy would be Gibson (family name on my dad’s side.)

- Marcelo, derived from Mars the god of war, is the name of my husband’s departed and beloved Abuelo. They were very close. Our oldest nephew (3 years old) has the middle name of Marcelo but my brother and sister in law wouldn’t mind. We would likely use Mars as a nickname.

- Emmanuel, meaning “God with us”, is a name we both love. We would use Manny as a nickname. My sister in law considered using this for her first son but went with an entirely different name instead. We love the meaning.

Both are unique to our area!
