How many ounces of milk (in general, formula or BM) is your 9 week old taking a day?

And how often?

I thought we had it all figured out over here... every 3 hours, baby would nurse first for around 30 mins, then take 2-2.5 oz formula, and showed all signs of being content. Slowly we increased the formula to 3oz because she was acting like she needed more milk. But things were still fine.

Then, just recently, everything has been thrown for a complete tailspin. One evening, she just couldn’t settle down & nurse, it was as though she couldn’t get ANY milk from me? She ended up taking SIX OZ FORMULA 😳😳😳 and she didn’t spit up or anything, so I knew it wasn’t too much for her. I was super confused, but figured it would maybe be just an odd, once-off type of thing.

Well, next morning she was all fidgety and unsettled again, and ended up taking about 5.5 ounces, but then spit up a bit (as though she maybe had too much?)

I’ve been trying to figure out how much formula she actually needs now, and I’m confused to why she jumped up so much out of nowhere. I decided to try for a middle-ground, nurse & then give 4oz, I’m still trying to figure out if this works for her or not, but now her schedule is all messed up. Sometimes she acts like she doesn’t want to eat for 4-4.5 hours, sometimes she acts like she wants to eat every 2 hours, sometimes she wants to stay attached to me and alternate between nursing and formula with no real breaks.

I’m so confused. Like today she was supposed to eat at about 2pm, she wasn’t showing signs of hunger, so I let it go until 2:30. She nursed for about an hour, then I gave her the 4oz. About 30 or so minutes following that she was acting like she wanted to eat again, so I started nursing. She kinda nursed & started getting all unsettled, and so now I’m not sure if I should give her more formula or what? It’s now 4:30, so it’s really only been about an hour since her last feed.
