In home verses center daycare concern
We have been at a small center since my LO was 14 weeks. She is now 13 months. It hasn’t been perfect but I know her teachers care for her and she is always happy when I drop her off. They are moving to a new location - about 10 mins longer drive so doable for us. But when they move they are increasing rate $70/week. We decided that was crazy and found an in home. She seems great and her reference had great things to say. I am just having such anxiety about this situation - I am making myself sick.
It took me a while to feel comfortable when she started daycare. It wasn’t perfect but the little things were mostly when her main teacher was out for the day. But I know she learns a lot when there. She has always been ahead on milestones. She is learning Spanish and knows a few signs. But mostly she is happy. They help us with her allergy and when eczema flares let us know.
My concerns about the new place is - she won’t have as much structure and won’t be learning as much. They don’t do story time and music everyday and my LO loves both. They don’t do art projects and allow screen time. I am a little concerned about her allergy and being exposed in a new place.
Am I insane for thinking its worth the extra money to keep her where I know she is happy and cared for by her teachers? Both of them cried on her last day there. I have cried multiple times about this. My husband thinks it’s insane to pay that much extra. Especially with the pandemic and incomes affected, families stopped going to our daycare and we continued, etc. I am just venting I guess. Looking for some advice. 😔
