Exposing children to brutal realities of the world

🌹C

So there’s always a lot going on in the world but now it’s pretty hectic. and it’s mostly not pretty.

The sad reality is that the world is not rainbows and sunshine. It’s often a cold, brutal place. Is it right to educate your children in such matters and not let them live in an idyllic bubble?

For example, allowing your children to attend protests with you when it’s safe, teaching them about inequality, injustice, discrimination, war, poverty, showing them the news, etc.

Should we allow our kids to see these things from an early age? Or should we just allow them to be kids and let them see for themselves as they grow up?
