What age do kids not have a pacifier

My little nephew is 3 years old and about to be 4 in September and I am really just trying not to get involved because I am just his aunt knowing that he still has the pacifier.

You need to take it by age 2. Past that can do damage to there teeth and they dont lesrn other healthy coping mechanisms in an approperiate time frame

I took my daughters away at two.  I just told her I couldn’t find it, which was actually true.  She she just went to sleep no problem.  So I just kept telling her I couldn’t find it until she stopped asking.  I was so shocked it was that easy I definitely wasn’t expecting that.  She was super attached to it.  Or maybe so I thought 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would say before age 2, and even at that old I think I would only use it for naps and night time if needed. 
I feel like if the child has to take it out to have a conversation with you then they are too old.

I always stopped my kids by their first bday. I’m a hygienist and see the long term affects so often! It’s a big price tag to correct

My 2 year old was OBSESSED with her pacifier.  She wouldn't sleep without it.  About a month before she turned two my aunt told me to put aloe on it.  Knowing how stubborn my kid is was like 😑yea this is not gonna work.  But I tried anyway.  I picked some from our yard and ur supposed to only put the green/yellow goo that comes out of the plant on it not the clear stuff.  So I did.  I gave her her pacifier with it on it and she was disgusted.  After that day she never wanted her paci again.

We stopped completely by 16 months. After a year, it was only used for sleeping except maybe in some rough teething moments.
