Do you take your rings off to cook???

My husband & I have a debate going. Please help us settle it. Do you take your rings off your hands to cook? Or do you just wash your hands & cook with rings on?

I worked as a jeweler for several years and after seeing the body oil and gunk that builds up in rings the idea of cooking with them on is absolutely disgusting 🤮

I don’t usually wear my jewelry at home. My wedding ring is high profile and it just doesn’t go well with mom life. I wear it 100% if the time when I leave the house.

I have rubber gloves I wear if I’m putting my hands in to mix something.
I haven’t taken my rings off in years.

I don't wear my rings in my house, I only put them on to leave the house so I never have them on while cooking.

Depends on what i am making. Backing bread or making hamburgers or something like that....i take my ring off because it is too hard to clean dough or ground meat out of it. Otherwise i cook with my ring on.

Depends if I’m literal sticking my hands into something or not. If I am I take them off.

I take it off if I’m working with something sticky or greasy or raw meat. Sometimes the food isn’t messy or if I’m not handling raw meat, I’ll keep my ring on then and when I wash my hands I move the ring around and make sure it gets a good lather and rinse too.

I think I’ve always taken mine off, but I haven’t worn my ring in years because my ring is an heirloom from my husband’s mom and I almost lost it once and my husband stresses about it. 😆 I want to get a simple band soon we just haven’t been able to afford it since my husband went back to school to pursue a new career. 😊

Depends what I’m making. If I’m making something like meatballs, I take my ring off. I have barely been wearing mine since covid hit because I haven’t been getting ready in my typical routine so I don’t put my ring on as much (I take it off to shower).
