Husbands friend makes me uncomfortable

My husband is friends with a man in his mid 20’s, he’s from a traditional Indian family and was born and raised in America-texas to be exact. I’m including his ethnic background and everything because I may not know something about Indian culture that could be relevant to this situation. This friend of his talks to my husband every day if not almost every day. They play video games online, and he’s come over a few times. Every time he comes over he brings our 1 year old son a small gift. The first time he came over he brought our son an old Pokémon stuffed animal. I thought it was very odd that 1. He would bring him a gift. And 2. That he brought him an old, worn out toy. It just struck me as very odd. Since then he’s brought our son a new hot wheels car every time he visits. These gifts have struck me as very odd because I’ve always known “gift giving” as a textbook aspect of grooming. Then today I saw him rubbing my son’s stomach affectionately. He was kind of rubbing his stomach the way that I do sometimes...however I’m his mother...and he is not. It made me really really uncomfortable. I asked my husband what he knows about this guy and he said just the basics. And that he will keep an eye out for anything suspicious from now on. Oh, and another thing is that he used to work at a kid’s shelter in college..so I was thinking that perhaps kids just have a special place in his heart and he’s not aware that what he’s doing is unusual. What are your takes on this situation? Would y’all be uncomfortable or worry? I want to know if I’m being paranoid or perhaps there’s a culture difference that I’m not aware of. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

P.s. I’m not sure where to post this, so I’m going to post it in “general pregnancy” so everybody who sees it is a mom too.
