Genital herpes?

Can someone that has/had them describe what they looked like for you? I went to Planned Parenthood a few months ago & the doctor told me it was just fordyce spots that I had but I’m afraid they’re not. Mine aren’t blisters. Just whitish sebaceous looking glands. My ex boyfriend has had bumps since December. They keep going away & they never were in clusters or blister like??? They were just super hard red bumps spread out. He said they’re starting to turn black now?? He is also deployed & they showed up after he got over there? I’ve been with someone in the past two months (dating) - we have had sex raw & he hasn’t had any bumps occur. Please help
