Should LGBTQ history be taught in schools?

Starting July 1st Illinois is making it mandatory for LGBTQ to be taught schools and students must learn about it before the 8th grade. What are your thoughts?

Of course. Why would exclude an entire group of people?

I agree with it. I think LGBTQ history should be taught integrated into the history and social studies classes and not separated out. I feel the same way about Black history and Native American history. But at least this way it is in the curriculum at all so it's still a "win".

Of course it should be taught. A large population is LGBTQ. They shouldn’t be excluded from history.

Black rights and women’s rights are taught in school and so should lgbtqia

The schools need to add the following requirements: 
 1. African Studies (before slavery) 
2. Financial literacy and how to start a business. 
3. Prayer back into the school.
4. Sexual Education 
There are parents who don't want  America to push this on their children and not equip them with the knowledge of who they are nor what they will need to survive in this country. Just because parents are upset about this doesn't mean that they are homophobic..there are so many other valuable things these kids can be taught in these schools.
