Eye contact during sex?

My SO and I have been dating around nine months, I love him and he's an amazing guy. The thing is, he looks at me constantly during sex. When we're being sweet and loving and gentle, I love kissing him and looking into his eyes. But when we're being rough and kinky, I honestly just want to watch him fuck me and I look up every few minutes. What do you guys think? Should I look at him more or do you think he doesn't notice? Is it bad that I don't look at him that often?
