Flu shot while pregnant...yes or no?

Personally I don't believe you need it and even if I thght it helped I would not be injecting myself with a flu virus when I'm carrying a baby. The One year I did have it I had never been so sick.

I had it with my son, glad I did as everyone in my office apart from me went down ill! I would definitely have it again.

I got mine at work, they had the ones with no mercury available, but only for pregnant women so I was lucky. I normally don't get flu shots but being pregnant also means you are immunocompromised so you don't reject the baby and I'd rather get a flu shot that I know is safe rather than researching what cold meds are okay to take while pregnant on top of being sick and needing to take time off work.

I'm from Australia and all doctors and midwives reccomend it.. Each year I've had it and never been sick so I had at the start of my pregnancy. I'm 18 weeks now and still haven't been sick *touch wood*

In the UK all doctors tell pregnant women to get it I'm really not sure on the pros and cons reading this im kind of unsure because it's very debated. I never had a problem with taking it before..there must be some reason they encourage it?

My OB says yes and I went ahead to get mine early but because of pregnacy my pharmacistrecommends preservative   free shot

I will discuss it with my doctor but unless she advises against it (which I don't expect) I will be getting one since it is "required" by my employer (we can opt out but must wear a mask at all times and cannot use sick time if we do get sick).

My midwife says it's very important to have it, because if you do get flu it can be very dangours for baby, an the injections does not give you flu, iv asked an thers a big sign on my doctors wall, I think it's def best to have it and winters comeing soon.
