Induction turned Natural Birth Story

Dana

I was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday July 8th. My due date was July 2, so about 6 days overdue. I was praying Tuesday night for some sign of labor. I had received two membrane sweeps the week before.

Wednesday morning we woke up and went to the hospital. I had given up the thought of a natural labor. My doctor wanted me to have two full bags of penicillin before starting pitocin. I got up to use the bathroom and MY WATER BROKE. I was so excited but they still said we’re on the same track since I was still only 1.5cm dilated as I was for a week. Contractions started kicking in about 5-6 minutes apart and I asked for some pain medicine and to be checked. It was kind of a blur after, I would wake up through contractions. They came to check me and I had went to 4cm in just one hour! Contractions started kicking up full force so I asked for epidural at 6pm. To my surprise the hardest part about it, was trying to stay still during the contraction, but it ended up not being hard. After this I felt no contractions and got an hour or so of broken sleep. They checked me at 8:30pm and I was 7cm! Got a little more sleep, and at 9pm doctor checked me and I was a full 10cm. She taught me how to push and we started pushing around 9:20pm. It took almost 2 hours but at 10:56pm my little angel Adam was born at 7lbs 5oz 22inches long 💙🙏🏽
