Is there anyone else who had to be put to sleep during their baby's birth who feels depressed about it?

I had my daughter 3 months ago and I get so sad thinking about it but I'm glad we are all healthy

I wasn’t put fully under, but was made very ill by the anesthesia, pain meds and anti-nausea meds. After laboring for 24 hours, getting an epidural, misoprostol and three bags of pitocin I was exhausted. I was so weak going into my c-section already and then all of the additional meds for procedure caused me to vomit throughout the surgery—I didn’t end up getting to hold my baby right away which I had an inkling off beforehand, and since then I’ve grown increasingly sad about. 
Truthfully, I think part of my disappointment is due to how frequently and vehemently our midwife and other medical staff kept saying how important skin-to-skin within the first hour is for a newborn. Nevermind the fact that there are situations where a mother is unable to control her ability to do that like I was (and yourself!). I think I even feel a little guilty—though it was beyond my control.

🙋🏼‍♀️ me. My son will be 3 in September and it still makes me kinda sad. The good part was he was all done with everything and clean from his bath when I woke up and I got to have him immediately to nurse and he didn't have to leave me again after that. I'm due next month with his baby brother and I'm not sure if I'll have to be put to sleep again or if they will be able to get the spinal in this time. Fingers crossed I get to see this little guy as he makes his appearance. 🤞

I was under GA for our son’s birth two years ago and if I need a c-section with this one, I’ll be put under again. I’m not medically cleared for an epidural or spinal due to a blood disorder. It took quite a while to accept missing his birth. Sometimes it’s still tough. My husband tells me about it whenever I ask and that helps. It’s okay to be sad and it’s okay to take time to process it. I found as our son started to have more and more firsts and new experiences, missing those first couple hours was okay.
