When do you tell your GP?

This is my first month ttc, I got a very faint line on 9DPO and a clearer line 10 DPO. Should I call my GP now to get a midwife appointment or should I wait longer? If I should wait longer, can you advise how much longer to wait? I’m W3D3 at 10 DPO.
This is my first pregnancy, we’re going to keep it quiet until week 12, so any advice is appreciated! The top two tests are 9 DPO and the darker one is 10 DPO. TIA x

I would call them soon just because wait times for appointments can be quite long I think ours is about 3/4 weeks at the moment, the doctor usually does an appointment at 6 weeks (it may be just a phone appointment at the moment) then they will refer you for your booking in appointment with the midwife usually at 10 weeks. Again this depends on where you are as they seem to all have different rules currently due to what's going on. But they will also want to book your 12 week scan so the sooner you let them know the sooner they can get that booked for you. 😊 Hope that helps.

I live in Kent. We have to go on hospital website and refer ourselves. No GP's involved, unless there's issues x

I called my midwife as soon as I got a positive — they fit me in at 6 weeks because I was getting ready to go overseas for a month. They usually don’t see you until you’re around 8 weeks.
That being said, there’s also usually a wait...so I’d recommend calling as soon as you can.

I called my GP as soon as I found out and they booked me in for my midwife booking for when I was as 8 weeks.

If you’re on any medication at all phone your GP as soon as possible. I am asthmatic and called my GP as soon as I tested positive, which was bang on 4 weeks since my last period, mainly because of some of the inhalers I take and I wanted to check if they were safe in pregnancy. Just as well I did, as GP’s advice was to come off 2 of the 3.

Some places allow you to sled refer so you don’t need a doctors appointment. Look up what hospital you will go to and search their maternity information. It will as you when last period was and book you in at the necessary time (usually around 8/10 weeks) for a booking appointment
