Christmas gender reveal -THOUGHTS?

Question

I will be finding out my baby's gender the week of Christmas... I was curious if it was distasteful if I planned a gender reveal party with a Christmas theme? Perhaps Santa or grinch themed? I'm afraid it'll seem as if I'm trying to take away from Christmas and I don't want to interfere with any family gatherings or plans... What are your thoughts? Trashy or cute?

Well, I think it's a great idea. You don't have to do it on Christmas Day or anything. But if you're like me, all of my family is from outta town. So it's very rare that we are all together in one place. So taking advantage of that would be smart to do around the holidays. That's what we're doing. I'm finding out the gender next week and we are announcing to friends and family on thanksgiving night. We are going to decorate a small tree with pink and blue ornaments. And buy either pink or blue lights to wrap the tree in. We'll turn off the lights and light the tree and that's how everyone will find out the gender!! We thought it was a cute idea. Hope this helps!! :)

Because it's the week of Christmas, I probably wouldn't do a gender reveal party, just for the simple fact that everyone is going to be SO busy that week!!! You could always make gifts for people, like pink or blue ornaments, or back cookies that are pink or blue to take to the get togethers!!! It's definitely not trashy, but since it's the week of Christmas it would be hard to get a lot of family and friends together !!!

If it were me, I would probably plan a party for after Christmas, people might still be in town and aren't doing much until New Years, but are probably still in a party going mood.  I'm just planning on announcing at Christmas, so its just a side note, not a whole party.
