Seeking advice from service members

So, here is the thing. I am 26, my fiance is 30. He just reinlisted as prior service and is in ait for 92Y since he switched mos. Well, I've been wanting to go active the last 3 years but all the stars weren't aligning so I couldn't due to personal matters. I have the opportunity to enlist this Friday. He told me if I do so, we aren't going to be able to live together for years at a time (even if we got married when I'm done in ait). He said, it would've been different if we were both already in, and it would've been easier. He says he couldn't do it.

Is any of what he's saying is true?
