Too early?

So there’s a possibility that I will have to move out of state in fall 2022 for 4 years for medical school.

Me and my SO have been together about 10 months now and everything is going really well.

I’ve heard him say before that he doesn’t think he’d want to do long distance (not specifically talking about me - just when other people talk about it).

My mom and I got in an argument about it today.

Should I ask him if he thinks he’d be willing to do LDR or move with me if I have to move? Or is it still to early? This wouldn’t be an issue for at least 2 years and may not be an issue at all if I get into an instate school.
