Does she still look jaundiced ?

When I had her her bilirubin was high but at her appointment the other day it was 11. Something can’t remember but the doctor said since she’s 6 days old it’s not an issue and to just put her in the sunlight etc. also said as long as she’s pooping the bilirubin will come out. I’m a ftm so I need y’all opinions, she looks yellow slightly in the face but then she doesn’t; what y’all think?

Can take up to 2 weeks for formula fed babies  to get rid of jaundice or 2-3 weeks for breast fed. It always goes away from bottom to the top, that's what I got told. The eyes is usually the last to clear up.😊 My 3 week old is just starting to look a normal colour, BF.

We had billirubin problems as well. We were told many babies have a bit of yellowing. If it starts to move down the body or the eyes become greatly impacted is when it becomes very unsafe. Our pediatrician recommended sunlight through the window for at least 5min/day as well as giving a bit extra expressed milk since we are nursing. The more baby poops the more of the billirubin will exit the body.

My little boy was under the blue light for two days after he was born because his Bili was 11.6-12.4. Once he finally got released he stayed yellowish for about a week-2 weeks and his eyes were the last to clear up. Just make sure she’s eating and wet diapers!
