Clothes line/sun smell

I recently saw a video of someone air drying their clothes on a line outside because it’s more sustainable. Once I have my own home I would love to do this to be more sustainable and eco friendly too. However, in the past when I’ve dried my clothes in the sun my clothes end up smelling like sun if that makes sense? As if I’ve been outside all day and I’m all stinky. So I had to wash my clothes again and dry it in the dryer. Is there a way to avoid this “sun smell” ? Could it possibly be the detergent I had used?
