First time getting an IUD

First of all I’m 16, I’m getting my first iud next week I’m not even sure what brand I just jumped on it the first opportunity I could as soon as my OBGYN reopened. Over the beginning of summer I became more sexually active and it became imperative to me that I get back into some kind of birth control. I’ve heard many different things about cramping and other symptoms you can get from them and differences in pain based on your age. My mom has the copper iud and she earned me that it really does hurt even though she’s had a baby. It’ll also be my first time having a doctor poke around in there but I’m not expecting to feel uncomfortable because I’m already comfortable with myself, but I would like some of the women who have iuds and haven’t had children to tell me their experience and tell em about their side effects just so I know what it’s like for real people instead of the weird google descriptions
