Mirena regrets
I wanna start off by saying this is my second time getting Mirena IUD, but not back to back. I had my first IUD inserted at my 6 week pp checkup when I had my daughter 6 years ago. Yes the insertion was uncomfortable, but all went well and after about 6 months of nothing my monthly period returned and I was fine with it. I kept it in for 4 years and started ttc 5 months later, which resulted in my now one year old ☺️ After her first birthday I still hadn’t had a period so I went in to the doctor to talk about birth control and my non existent period. I booked my iud insertion date and suprise suprise AF decided to come back the week before! So I had my first pp period 06/30-07/05 (I’m usually a 7 day cycle with some serious cramps but I was so happy it only last 5 days and no cramps 🙌🏼)
well.. I really wasnt sure wanted to get the Mirena because I’d felt so good without it but we also don’t want to try for another (atleast not now) so I decided on 07/07 I’d go through with it. It was painful, I cramped like crazy, and then the bleeding began. It started the evening after I had it inserted very light bloody metal smelling discharge, then it stopped for 2 days (got to have sex those days 🙏🏼), and now it’s getting heavier. I’ve read all the horror stories and how it’s normal but I don’t know if I can go months like this. We don’t have period sex (I don’t mind but it’s just not been a thing for us) and now I’m pissed this is going to effect our already minimal sex life 😭😭😭 how did you ladies get through this? I’m really debating getting it out if this is going to continue. I was worried about AF not coming back until after a year pp but now I would give anything to go back
