Social Media Hackers - a warning

I have a warning but also asking if this has happened to anyone else recently

I recently had a message from my friends messenger

In retrospect, yes it makes no sense , but since it was coming from a friend I didn’t think anything of it

She said she had accidentally must have somehow put my number in for her password retrieval, and asked me if I could sent her the code that’s sent to my phone so she could change her password. I sent her the code that got sent to my phone number and she said it wasn’t working. A few more codes got sent to my phone and none of them worked, and she said Facebook said that because her account was now under my number, it was also somehow connected to my Facebook.

I gave her my Facebook password bc she said she needed to use it to disconnect her Facebook from mine.

Then, I ended up getting kicked out of my Facebook for a good 15/20 minutes until I got myself back on.

I messaged her and asked if she fixed it, and she messaged me asking me what I was talking about.

As we were talking, we had realized her fb got hacked , and she was not the one asking me all these questions to get my fb information.

I ended up just deleting my Facebook, which makes me sad , because I have a lot of friends and family and memories on there from many years. But I felt really uncomfortable when I realized how easy it is to get my information on it, especially with my sons pictures on there. I didn’t feel like just changing my password was a viable option.
