IVF experience?

Just your general experience and overall thoughts? Getting ready to start IVF in a month or two and I only know fertile people. No one to chit chat about it with.

For me IVF was expensive and long but 10000% worth it. I had an amazing care team at a top ranked clinic who were there with me every step of the way cheering me on and helping me through tough times. We had nobody to talk to either and thankfully my clinic had people who helped those like me. They were like sponsors kinda if you wanted one to have someone to talk to, vent to, celebrate to who went through it too...I am now one of them foe my clinic as it helped me a ton. The whole process all seems very overwhelming but just take it step by step and don't stress about the step 3 away. Just focus on each part and it seems less daunting. And when doing muscular injections stay active!! Squats, walks, lunges anything to get those muscles moving...it helps stop knots and soreness. Do not inject then go sit on the couch, how you get a sore ass. If you ever have any questions or need someone feel free to reach out to me. I am very open about my infertility journey and more than willing to listen. I personally had a great IVF experience but it is because I made it that way. Good luck and you can do it.

It’s a rollercoaster ride! Lots of ups and downs and lots of the “hurry up and wait” stress. When I first talked to my RE about starting IVF after my failed IUI she told me I could start the very next cycle! Wow I was so excited and couldn’t believe I could start so soon! Unfortunately I had months of delays before finally starting my egg retrieval protocol. Now it’s been 4 months since my egg retrieval and I’m still waiting for my transfer. Waiting for my PGS results after my retrieval was torture as well! 
IVF is truly a miracle and I am SO grateful to have this option, and I think giving up and not doing IVF is actually harder. At least IVF gives us hope💕

You would be surprised, you likely know at least one person who has gone through IVF but didn’t share that. I shared our experience and I had 3 people we knew tell us they did IVF and 5 women reach out to me to ask me what to expect for their journey they were starting. 
So IVF is definitely an emotional ride, for the very fact that of what you are going through but also for the additional hormones. It’s a lot of appointments (dr every other day) and a lot of shots. As long as you have a good support system (I always suggest an additional person besides your partner) and you remind yourself why you are doing it, you will be good. Make sure you ask ALL the questions you have, do some research to know what to expect for different stages, and be prepared for possible road blocks. Be your own best advocate.
