Am I wrong ?

I have to go on bedrest for premature labor. I am 26 weeks today. I have an 18 month old that needs to be cared for and so we are looking at hiring a nanny. I reached out to an agency and they only send me Caucasian candidates that are unqualified... I spoke up and asked for more diverse applicants and applicants that were better qualified. I got a super snobby response. I was using abuela because that’s what I called my great grandmother... 🙄🙄🙄🙄
My first email:

Her response: “Noted will go find an "abuela" for you”

Same. I’m Mexican-American and was basically raised by my abuelita since my parents both worked full time. Maybe it’s cultural, but I am definitely more comfortable having an older caretaker for my child. Not to say they’re all great and there aren’t problems. My Venezuelan neighbors hired a friend’s aunt and she is definitely not the best nanny at all. 😂

I am Puerto Rican and I can understand what you are looking for if I had a nanny I would want someone like that also because it would make me feel more comfortable. It’s your child so you have to pick what is more comfortable for you.

I don’t think you’re wrong at all. 
I’m Caucasian and I wouldn’t mind a bilingual nanny. I would love for my child to grow up more diverse than me. I would not appreciate how rude that agency is coming off and I would switch if I were able to. 
It seems like you’re open to the Caucasian women as well. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m sure I would be just as opposed to an unqualified Caucasian watching my child as an unqualified Latina. 
Minimum requirements would be you meet the minimum requirements (and so far their candidates are not). Bilingual and what not would be an obvious plus to you, it seems. 
I’m sure plenty of white moms request that whoever watch their child isn’t 21 and they have background in what they’re looking for, and I’m sure they have no problem with that. I’d want to find a different service or look on my own for someone out of service.

Sorry not completly related to your post. I'm likely to go into prem labour also. And currently having weekly checks at the hospital. Luckily bed rest has not come up just light duties at work. But can I ask why your likely to go into prem labour. X
