Dumb Question: Do CTG Contraction Peaks mean contraction are happening?

This is probably a really dumb question, but I'm a FTM so bare with me. I was woken up early to some pretty intense pain that was coming in waves and very quickly got out of hand. I called the hospital and they said to come in, I tried paracetamol and a hot bath but an hour later it was still happening. They hooked me up to a machine and left me for a while to see what was happening. The pain subsided pretty quickly, and they checked my cervix and it's still closed - btw I'm 34+2, but on the graph it says 5 contraction peaks. Does this mean I had 5 contractions, and then they stopped? I'll attach the photo below
