Would u remove the writing?

So for a little back story on this situation, the other day I had encountered my first IRL “Kevin”. Long story short I have blm quotes on my car and was inspired to refresh them after my car wash after seeing an ALM sign In my lot.

Well like a true Kevin, mr prolife alm, lost his shit and cursed me out (yes I caught some on camera). This man was livid. U can hear him cursing me out from inside the rooms.

My bf got wind of what happened and asked me to wipe off the writing because

-it draws negative attention

-if a cop stops me I could get hurt or thrown in jail for no reason other than he doesn’t like what’s written

-I’m not even black (I’m doing too much)

-hes black and he doesn’t even have that on his car

-if alm guy decided to bring a gun and my bf and I were together he would be the one shot not me

Now I’m totally confused. I’ve had different quotes written on my car since June . I’ve even used my car to help block protesters from oncoming/passing traffic or given them rides back to their cars safely when the protests were forcibly dispersed.

None of this has been an issue till now. When Kevin saw a woman by herself and lost his mind. I don’t know what to do. Because I firmly believe in what I’m doing. And what I stand for. But as an ally I’m supposed to respect POC wishes when it comes to ongoing advocacy.

Should I remove the writing from my car and stop doing it all together?

For reference I’ve had quotes that state police brutality facts, to “light hearted” quotes made famous by MeMes and some quotes from Obama, Tamika Mallory and BLMLA ig page.
