It has taken me 1 month in order to be able to get back on here to tell my wonderful story.
It's nothing out of the ordinary but I'm freaking darn proud of myself because throughout the course of my pregnancy I never thought I'd be able to have a vaginal birth.
So I was supposed to be induced at 37 weeks, at the latest 37 weeks 1 day due to cholestasis. On Friday June 12 I started feeling really bad contractions but were not back to back from there and they got worse and worse and worse for the rest of the rest of the week. I noticed a clear liquid coming out little by little once in a while but I didnt care to focus on it because I was almost 100% sure they would call me on Wednesday 17 to get induced. That Wednesday morning my husband treated me to Applebee's for a delicious meal and to calm my nerves and excitement a bit. To our luck we did not get called in for induction that day. HOWEVER! Exactly at 12 am Thursday, my contractions started stronger than the other days and were suddenly 3 to 5 min apart. For a whole hour we waited to see if they would slow down but nothing happened so we packed our things and left to the hospital by this time more clear liquid was coming out so when we get there I mention that to the nurses and they said that if it wasn't liquid from my water they would have to send me home and wait for a call for my indiction that day (which I thought was ridiculous). Anyway, 30 min later she comes back and tells me that my water was ruptured and that they would come and induce me a couple minutes later if it didn't break on it's own. Water never broke on its own so the doctor came into the room with a huge plastic like long stick and told the nurse to push my stomach down and for me to push on my next contraction as hard as I could. My contraction came I pushed, the urse pushed my belly and doctor put her finger inside me in orde to feel the bag as she is inserting the plastic stick inside of me and next thing you know I feel like I peed myself and I didnt stop leaking water for the remainder of the time that I didnt have an epidural. I went without an epidural for 9 hours and I asked the nurse to check me to see how much I had dilated and she said I was barely at 4.5 so I knew I was gonna be there a while and I asked for the epidural and let me tell you that I felt like I was on cloud 9 lol it was an instant relief. From 10 am on Thursday to maybe 1 am of Friday I had barely dilated to 6 cm (I had stayed there for most of the day on Thursday) and my OB came in and said that if I didn't progress they would have to do a C-Section on me (I cried A LOT when they told me that because my doctor knew how bad I wanted to have a vaginal birth) so she then tells the nurse to do a couple different exercises on me with the peanut and she did and by 7 am Friday I was at 9 cm. I asked her if I could push my way into 10 cm she said yes, I did it and then she told me to rest for 2 more hours until the baby's head crowned. I think they brought the dosage of the epidural down because I felt they were ripping me down there and I called the nurse back and I told her I couldn't wait 2 more hours to push so she asked me if I was sure because pushing or not since the baby was sunny side up it would take me 2 hours for the baby yo crown plus all the pushing that I had to do she calculated 4 hours of pushing. By this time it was already 15 min till 8 and said I'm gonna push this baby out I don't care how long it takes me. By 9:30 my baby came into this world weighing 6 lbs 11 oz and as soon as she was out I completely forgot about the pain. I would definitely do it all over again if I had to. 33 hours of labor and about an hour and a half of pushing I feel like a damn warrior and super blessed and grateful with God for this wonderful journey and experience.
Here she is a couple hours after being born in comparison to now. She is now 1 month 5 days, weighing 9 lbs and measuring almost 22 inches. I love her to death 🥰
