Was I in the wrong for this?

Honestly. Like I want the real truth because I’m giving you the real story.

So backstory, my husband is a painter and fell off a scaffold (about 8 feet), he got taken to a clinic because he wasn’t in too much pain at first, but then they sent him to the ER so they could get better images. Due to COVID, I wasn’t able to go in with him despite him being in so much pain he wasn’t able to talk much and I was the only one able to answer questions.

The nurse gave me the ER phone number and took down my name and phone number to put in his chart so they could speak to me regarding his medical stuff.

I was told I would get a call with all of his results because he wasn’t fully aware of what was going on after pain medication. Two hours went by and I heard nothing, and by this time he had been at the ER for 2.5 hours. So I called.

The nurse on the other line got real snippy with me. “He’s been here less than three hours. What’s your question?” she said, after I gave her my husband’s name.

I calmly replied, “ma’am, I understand your job is very difficult and you’ve probably got better things to do than answer my silly questions. If you could understand that my husband is in the hospital and that I’m scared and if you could please treat me and your other patients’ family members with respect I’d very much appreciate it.” BITCH HUNG UP ON ME.

I called back. Same girl answered, and I asked to speak to another nurse, very politely, I might add. She said I should treat her with respect, and hung up again.

At this point I was quite frustrated and called the hospital main number to ask to speak with the person over the ER. They haven’t gotten back to me yet, and I’m thinking it may not be until tomorrow at this point which is fine, but I still don’t know how my husband is or what has happened to him.

He’s been there since 2pm and it’s 11pm. 😭😭
